The Southeastern Pennsylvania Synod invites all members to its Fall Learning Day, The Love Revolution: Who is Our Neighbor?, on Saturday, at St. John Lutheran Church in Philadelphia. The event runs from 8:30 am to 12:15 pm and will feature keynote speaker Rev. Emily Harkins, Lead Pastor of The Dwelling in Winston-Salem, NC, who is known for her work in building community and proclaiming the dignity of those on the margins. Rev. Harkins will explore how God calls us to see one another in our fullness and to love as we are loved, followed by her workshop, Serving All People in the Name of Jesus. Julia Frank, Director of Community Outreach for Liberty Lutheran, will also lead a workshop on Striving for Justice and Peace, offering practical ways for congregations to engage in justice work. The morning begins with worship led by Rev. Linda Manson, SEPA Synod Director for Evangelical Mission, and concludes with workshops and fellowship.
